About
The Legacy of the Romonza
For years, one name defined boat trips in Mossel Bay: the Romonza.
Departing daily from the harbour, the Romonza became synonymous with Seal Island trips, marine encounters, and unforgettable family outings. With capacity for dozens of passengers and a rare whale-watching permit, she played a central role in introducing visitors to the bay’s rich marine life.
More than just a vessel, the Romonza was part of the town’s identity.
Though she has now been retired, her legacy continues through Mossel Bay Waterfront Charters—where the spirit of those journeys lives on in every trip we offer today.
